Did you know that the Houston public library not only has books but they have these literacy kits that come with a book and activity. They include everything down to the scissors and glue for your craft. All of this totally free! Go get your FLIP kit checked out today! Not much in the world is free so I love it when I can find it :) Thank you Mimi for coming over and playing with me. We had so much fun!

Howdy Birthday Partners

Jackson's little pals Henry and Lizzie had their birthday party this past weekend!

Katie put together such a darling hoe down for the kids!
Her "grub" station for the popcorn "feed" was loved by all the kids, and I'm sure our buckaroo had several cookies and cupcakes to fill that potbelly of his own. ha

And whooo weee there were some mighty fine animals....from chicks, goats, bunnies to ducks and horses.

These furry friends were petted (and squeezed with love) by all.

Jacksons adorable cousin Ethan had a lickin' good time!

Delicious sprinkle cupcakes from Frost ...yum!

Lots of jumping from these two!

After everyone parted ways, we headed for the prize gifts...Legos from Jack to Henry

and a necklace from Jack to Lizzie...
...and maybe a cute dress to go with it!
Happy Birthday to these little loves! What a boot scootin, kick your heels up good time!

Samurai Jackson

I wrote a line on my facebook status which said "I love getting older, my friendships just keep getting better with age."  I am so grateful for every friendship we have as a family! I met Mandy over a year ago through mutual friends and she has turned into such a wonderful friend of mine. She is just adorable, single (I have no idea why!?) and so thoughtful and best of all loves our little Jack.
Kevin was playing in a golf tournament last Thursday when Mandy texted me about having dinner. She suggested hibachi, and I got really excited for Jack, as I myself had not been in years. Jack and I jumped in the car, headed over and met Ms. Mandy for dinner.

Jack was a big fan of the fire...

but he loved it when he made a choo choo train and volcano out of veggies. We even had a game where he tossed some fried rice in our mouths! So so so fun!

We called it a night, gave our hugs and headed home. When we got home Kevin was waiting to give Jack a bath. While they talked about their day together I heard Kevin say "Did you have fun with Ms. Mandy" , "What did you and Mommy go do" "Do you like Ms. Mandy" and after all that conversation together he looked up and said "Yes she is caaaauuuuuute" ha ha ha ha. Kevin and I about died! Such a flirt!
Thanks Mandy for a fun night

Easter Morning

Can you tell that we really do holidays big in this family!? We love to spend time with each other and I love making memories for everyone! Its a great time when you go to bed with a smile and your heart full!

This year Jack got full exposure from chapel at St. Martins to books from the library and talks over dinner  However when he woke up Easter morning the first thing out of his mouth was "lets go find the bunny." He picked up his ears that were in the hallway put them on himself with no request of us, and went on a search for the Easter bunny. While we are not sure what was going on in his sweet head it was really so cute to see him puzzled as to wear that bunny was.

We just filled the basket with $1 toys and he was thrilled.
He wanted to go outside to play his "tennis" game as he called it.
I wanted to get him to pose for a picture and so we were trying to explain to him on what we wanted. I'm not sure if Kevin knows I took this, but I think its so so so funny. I cant be certain this picture will stay up long, so enjoy for now. ha ha

After the morning fun, we got dressed and ready for family to come over for Easter lunch

You guessed it, there was another egg hunt for Ethan and Jack :)

We played a few games in our front yard and just really enjoyed the afternoon!

We planned the day just perfect as after all the fun and games it started to rain, so we headed back inside and got ready to color Easter eggs.

My mom was so kind to boil all the eggs ahead of time and get everything together for the boys to color eggs.

Ethan wanted so badly to get in the mix! Looking forward to him joining in next year while the newest baby Emily (on the way!) watches on the sidelines.

Whew what an amazing Easter....so thankful for all the blessings we have!
