big texas train show

Its been pouring buckets since early this morning, and while Daddy still had hopes of golfing this afternoon (didn't happen) Jack and I were on a mission to see some trains even if it was raining! So we headed over to the G.R. Brown Convention center to the Big Texas Train Show. We went last year and Jack was memorized by all the model train displays. This year he was still super excited and is taller, so he was able to see all the displays at eye level.
There were a few more interactive trains for kids this year which made it even more exciting!

 wow trains!

This model was our favorite, at first the train wasn't working and my patient little buckeroo was watching intently until the owner finally got the train to go go go! Once he got it to go he needed to test all the other parts of the track and asked Jack to help him. Jack was in charge of making sure the little boys and girls on the playground were having fun. (when you pressed the button the kids would swing/the seesaw would go up and down). This is pretty darn neat when you are two! In charge of pushing a button is a big deal! :)

Then it was off to see more displays...

...and I think this is my favorite picture, he was putting out his "one" finger and saying "one more time". He wanted the train to go around one more time :)
This exhibit was new, you turned the wheel to help the train up the top of the conveyor. Once it got to the top it then on its own came down a windy track for the kids to see.

We got a yummy snack and watched the kids on the push train, and guess what.......
...I convinced Jack to go! He was a little hesitant at first but he jumped on and pushed his train car forward all by himself!
 go Jack go!

and without fail we hit up the Thomas table and purchased three new trains to take home. :)
I just love October, there is so much to do and see with baby boy :)
