The city of Houston today was closed down due to the crazy news hyping a winter snow storm that never happened. I woke up this morning expecting to see a thick blanket of snow for Jack to play in...but what I got was this...ice on the neighbors roof! Ug!
We did get ice on lots of the bridges so our Nanny didn't want to get out (I understood) so we were stuck at home and I couldn't work with Jack having no childcare. The sun finally came out in the afternoon and though it was still freezing outside (literally) we watched the news to see that most of the roadways had been cleared. We were tired of being inside so we bundled up and ventured out to the Houston Aquarium!

Jack had such a great time, though he was running through half of the exhibit, we ended up going back 3 times through it since it wasn't busy. There were lots of beautiful large fish and we even got to see white tigers! It was a great break for our afternoon to get out and explore :) It was even better that we practically had the exhibit to ourselves :)
He got to touch the string rays! (They clip them so they are not dangerous)

So while the "storm" disappointed us with no snow, I surely wasn't disappointed to get some time with Jack at the beautiful Aquarium! Fun afternoon!

He's just adorable! They also hyped a winter storm here...we were supposed to get 50cm (I'm not sure what that is in feet/inches) and ended up getting only about 20, I'd say. A lot of hype for nothing!
I love how the aquarium was EMPTY!! AWESOME!!!
