December fun

I love December for so many reasons (I will do a post on Thanksgiving soon) but this year we are able to do many of the fun traditions like Elf on the Shelf and advent calendars. Jackson has loved getting up in the morning to fine Everett the elf (that's what we named him). We started it a week ago and on the first day I'm not sure really understood. By the second day he started to come around to learn this new tradition and then came the third day when Mommy and Daddy forgot to move Everett to his new place...so when Jack ran out to find him and he was still in the same spot...uh oh...so I quickly told him it must have rained last night an Everett was having a hard time flying to the north pole. When we loaded up for school the car had morning dew on it and Jackson said "yes it rained Mommy" ...whew. But we have been making up for it by making sure each night we do something fun with Everett the Elf. We purchased this gingerbread calendar house a few years ago and we have been opening up each day as they come. The first two days had a little candy in the box but while I was at the $1 store I saw these tickets and decided putting a ticket in the door slot would be a fun way to get him things that don't fit in there. So we can mix it between small things that fit and bigger things to get with a ticket. Up tomorrow is a ticket item :) I took the gum balls out of the tube and filled it with raisins :)
We have so much coming up with meeting Santa, hay rides to look at Christmas lights, ice skating and holiday parties. We are sure to be jolly in December !
