Saint Street Swim

I have been trying to get Jackson into St. Street Swim since he was born! Finally my persistence paid off and we got accepted and start the first week of Jan! We are so excited to finally get access to the club to teach Jack how to swim. Its so close to the house and lessons are 30 minutes - 1 X week. His membership came with this cute swim diaper and I purchased a little track jacket for him after the pool.
We are all set! Let the lessons begin!

Christmas Card 2010

I looooooove our card this year, but then again I said the same thing about our awesome "Maui Christmas" card last year. I didn't do letter press this year because I had so many photos I wanted to share from our Montana trip, so we did a tri-fold card. I love getting mail in December, it's the one month I get so excited to see our mail carrier, and I don't mind if the dogs bark their heads off, it's my cue that there are pretties in my box! They go straight to our wall collage of friend/family cards that I love to look at all month long!
I have always loved paper and themes, so once Jack was born I went into high gear with our cards. I've decided that we will do non traditional cards and showcase our vacation that we take each year. Brilliant because this means we have to take a vacation each year! I already have our 2011 family vacation planned and I'm already dreaming up our card. So here is out card from this year! Big thanks Sicily Eason Designs for another masterpiece in my eyes :)

Love how the envelope ties in to the card!
What a fun way to share our trip!  Merry Christmas y'all!

but Mommy was! :)

Baby boy, Dad and I took care of you and made sure Santa knew exactly what was on your list! Bless your heart you waited in line so good and we are so sorry you were crying, but these pictures are so sweet and I'm certain you will enjoy then when you are older! Love, your crazy Mom

Chucky Who??

Oh my... we went... to Chucky Cheese. Now don't get me wrong, I went when I was little and had the best time of my life no doubt.... But there was something about it now that I'm an adult that I wanted to keep Jack away from. Maybe it was because I was afraid of snot nosed, wild, misbehaved kids..I'm certain that is the reason. But like most things I said when I was pregnant "I will never do this or that", have really gone out the window. You do whats best for your kid and we all end up with snot nosed kids that run wild from time to time :)
Jack was miserable with his hat, gloves, sweater and jacket this morning at the park. We lasted about 15 minutes before we both were wind chilled. So I decided we were just going to drive around and find any store that was open on a Sunday morning to walk around in. I pulled into a shopping center that had Chucky Cheese, intending to go to Micheal's Craft store, but I decided to drive by CC and see if at 9: 30 am it would be open...and it was. I looked around and there were very few cars, so I got Jack out and took my chances. Well I was pleasantly surprised that when we walked in they stamped in fluorescent ink your hand and the kids hand, so that you had to match on your way out! I also saw an employee wiping the rides and there were maybe 6 kids in the entire place. I started talking with a West U Mom and she said that it's a little secret on Sunday if you come early there is hardly anyone there. Now sigh... we all know the reason why, probably at church. (We should be there too). But Jack and I had so much fun! We got to play games and had a blast for just $5 bucks! Jack loved skeet ball. He would hand the balls to me so that I could toss down the lane, which I'm very rusty on this game. I was getting gutter or 1000, with the occasional 5000 shot which I got more excited than any kid in sight. We took a few pictures in photo games and when we left it was 11 am! Wow! I guess Chuck has a new friend named Jack, we shall be back...BUT only on our secret morning date :)

Lights in the Heights

We found out about an event hosted in the Heights of Houston, which is a historic home district with adorable cottages and huge Victorian mansions. Once a year during the holidays the streets are taken over by Houstonians while the people whom live on the street adorn their homes with beautiful Christmas lights, carolers, bands and other cool treats!

Kinda scary looking Gingerbread Man, but Jack didn't seem to mind :)
I loved this house, so pretty!

You just take your choice of transportation (no cars)..be it foot, golf cart, stroller or a baby car...and stroll up and down the streets. They sell food, drinks, have a large stage for bands, but really its just soooo much fun to people watch and look at the beautiful houses!

I loved how lots of the houses had a band or Christmas music, this house had Carolers

 Jack was saying  "Wow"
You might be able to see a little someone in this picture, he just loved all the balls, and kept saying it over and over again! ha

I only wish we had known about this sooner as we just heard about it 1 hour before it started. So we hopped in the car after Wesley's birthday party and drove on over! I think it would have been so fun to have our family come along...so next year we will make sure we are all decked out!
