Brisket & Sangria

We have been busy bees this weekend. Once we got back from Austin we all took a siesta and then got up to go to Uncle Joe & Aunt Stacy's house for a late lunch. They cooked up the most tender brisket and paired it with one of my favorite drinks...sangria! We did a little impromptu water fun in the back yard (hence why baby boy doesn't have swim trunks on) which Jack was "eh" about. He loves water, but I guess water that squirts in your face not so much. :)
We had a wonderful afternoon and so glad that we have family so close!

My grandmother sent these to Joe & Stacy as a wedding gift from a rose farm and they are blooming now!! I love pretties!
Jack lovvvvvvvves bubbles, but we have to teach him that sticking his little finger through the hole doesn't really work for blowing bubbles...ha ha
I think these two look alike! We love you Aunt Stacy!
Joe knows how to make a good Sangria, maybe if he is nice enough he will share on their blog!
Window surfing
Oh and we have BIG NEWS !! Kev and I do feel bad for not noticing....but while Joe was looking at Jack he told us that he will most likely have FOUR new teeth on the top by end of next week! WOW...FOUR?!? You can't really see it in this picture, but once he showed us we could feel them! At least we have a few doctors in the family to keep us newbie parents in the loop! Whew! Thanks Joe! I know we checked the gums a week or so ago and there was nothing there. He hasn't been drooling and though he was unusually fussy at some points in Austin... we chalked it up to just being away from home. Guess those suckers just come out fast! So those two teefers on the bottom will now have some friends!

Updated Road Trip blog

I updated the Road Trip blog post to add pictures of Emilys cake! A total favorite!

Road Trip

We took a road trip down to Austin this weekend and had so much fun! It was a lot of work with all that we have to take with us, but it was worth it! We stayed with the Harris Family at their home, on the wonderful Wild Onion Ranch. Ella and Jack got to see each other again and Jack was still in love with Ellas hair! The Mommys got to have a margarita and girl talk, with babies in tow. I think we started our day at 7: 30 am and got home around 3: 30 pm....with our accomplishments of lunch and ONE store. I guess we are not efficient anymore with two sweet babies on our hips?! Oh well...Jack and Ella make our hearts melt and I know we both wouldn't have it any other way! Kevin and Shaun got to go golfing, which was a much deserved break for Kevin. Saturday night we attended our friends Emily & Justins wedding at the Four Seasons on Town Lake, it was stunning and was a great time. It was nice to have a mini date night! Thanks Mandi & Shaun for watching Jack! Here are a few pictures from our trip - we love Austin.

Good Morning sunshine! Our kids woke up bright and early Saturday morning.
Ella was giving some morning smiles! We love her and that hair!!

We got Jack ready and headed out for a walk and some adventure on the ranch. Deep in the heart of Texas y'all!

Along the way we ran into Mr. Turtle...but Jack wasn't that interested to meet him.
So we wandered over to the watering hole and watched the ducks and longhorns graze in the pasture.
We had ourselves a good little walk and came back to see what Ella was doing. I just love these pictures!I let Mandi get ready while I fed Ella and gave her some sweet lovin!
Oh and of course I snapped a picture of these angels! They are 6 months apart and will be best pals forever!
Jack always had his eye on Ella but was really good not to bother her too much :)
Once we got ready and got all the 8 million baby items you have to carry together ..we headed to Chuys! Delish!
Mandi had to double duty the bottles - so funny!
The kids had been off schedule and so when we got home we put them to sleep!
Shhhhh don't wake them!!

Headed out to the wedding for some fun!
Emily & Justin had the cutest first dance! They did an upbeat song choice which I loved, Celebration by Kool & The Gang...and they added family members to it too! Too fun!
Oh yes and her dress was just fab!

And her cake, I ADORE ruffles so when we walked in to see it.... I was giggly!
It was just so sweet and scrumdidlyumptious!!

Ahhhhh what a GREAT night and weekend!!

New friends

Today we met our friends Andy & Stephanie's baby boy Case. He is just precious and has the most beautiful eyes! At 2 months old he is just so cuddly and curls up right into your arms! I forgot how little they are at this age.
I was holding him and he just started smiling, oh yes I had the camera in my hand! Perfect!
Then he snuggled up to his mommy for a nap! Look at those luscious baby lips!
Looking forward to when these two can go golf together!Oh and I love Jacks belt from Belt Man Ltd - Essex, Connecticut. We got it from a neighborhood yard sale for $2, score! Thanks Andy & Steph for having us over! Case is such a beautiful baby boy!

Yellow Mellow

Auntie Trish this is for you.... you said you wanted to see him in the European yellow shorts you got him :) I just so happen to have him in them today! Even though we are far apart we still think alike!

Oh ya and we tried to put his belt on, but he had other plans and wouldn't let me take it away from him! He is feeling better for sure!

He is smiling here...
We miss you!

Pool Time!

Today we headed over to see Aunt Stacy at Hotel Zaza. She was on call this weekend and needed to be near the medical center so she got a room at Zaza. It was also convenient for her since the Baylor MD reunion was going on at the hotel too. So we called Aunt Stacy up and decided to come add to her fun. It's nice when you can take a mini-vaca in your own city and the Zaza is the place to do it!

We put Jacks trunks on and got ready to go!

We arrived to Zaza ... and we were greeted by this chandelier! I think it would look great in Casa de Strehlow...I mean it might take down our ceiling, but its so fab!

Stacy had a suite on the 10th floor, fancy schmancy!

Jack of course always finds a new friend....meet Mr. Door Stopper.

Check out the lovely view from Stacy's room. Oh and if you are wondering where Uncle Joe is... he had patients to see today and wasn't able to join us, but he and Stacy are headed a nice dinner tonight!

We headed down to the pool and were told we could pick a cabana if we wanted, ummm yes!!

Bring on the bubbly...Turn on the boob-tube....
Check yourself in the mirror to make sure you look cool....
Eat a little lunch....Take a little swim...
Make a funny and pull Dad's hair...
Tell a story while you walk...
..and end the day with love! Thank you Aunt Stacy for such a great time! We are so proud of you for passing your final boards for your MFM speciality. You are one great sister & Auntie!
Love ya!
