Fall list number 2...

It is long overdue, the front yard has been a mess for months. I took Jack to school this morning (he had to wear a jacket!!!) and on my way out I just couldn't bare the sight of our yard any longer. So when I got home I figured out what I needed and headed out to the garden center!

Boxwood should be green not yellow :)
Jack has had a few tummy issues, so we have taken him off milk for a few days and thus his teeth were bright red this morning from hydrating juice.

I always have to end up going back to the garden store a few times, so I made sure to buy plenty this go around :)
I wish Buckley would just stay on our porch but he runs off like a wild bandit, so I tied him to the door so that he could enjoy the beautiful weather!
We had a few helpers, it was so bad that I had to get an extra hand with the large boxwood in the front bed. But I did all the planting of the flowers (which is the fun part anyways!)

We were still going when Jack got home from school, so Nini and Jack helped too!
...but then he got "yucky dirty" as he calls it and had to go wash his hands, he does not like his hands dirty!
Finally finished and the yard looks normal again!

We replaced 7 large boxwood and just re mulched on the large bed, flowers maybe next weekend?

Here is our next project, Jack and I are going to try and paint this pretty for our door!

The Great Pumpkin

This year Jack is old enough to enjoy all the fun that comes with fall. I have so much planned for our family this October, our first stop on the list was the St. Luke's pumpkin patch. We had so much fun looking at all the pumpkins and picking the perfect ones for our house!

 Look there they are!!
I had to share this picture, his outfit and the way he is standing cracks me up, and he was not happy that Daddy had to go back to the car, see I told you he is a Daddy's boy!
I always wonder how people get those adorable pumpkin pictures, our little one will not sit still, oh well, I think they are still cute :)

On our way to find the GREAT pumpkin!

 Jack spotted his perfect pick!

We finally decided on the ones we were getting and started to pull our BIG haul!
yes the orange one is HUGE, picked by Daddy

It's hard work pickin' so we had to take a break to get some water and a little snack :)

Yay for Mommy being back home and for making a check mark on our fall list!

Mr. Mom & California Dreams

With my job I have to travel every few months, and this past week was my quarter close. Packing up and leaving my boys is always so hard...and sometimes I even leave with a tear and pouty lips, but I remind myself that when I am in town I'm thankful for the flexibility that my job affords me, so the occasional work trip isn't too bad. While I was gone Kevin was Mr. Mom and he does such a great job, he is an amazing father! Jackson is very much a Daddy's boy these days, so I'm certain Jackson was loving his time with just Dad. I had to stay in California on Friday until all my deals went through so we couldn't take a flight out until Saturday. So instead of being on a flight during the day on Saturday I took an afternoon flight,
so that I could drive to San Fransisco late Friday night and then spend the day with one of my best girlfriends in San Fransisco, Kristin.

While I was out on Saturday Kevin and his mom took Jack to one of my favorite garden spots in Houston, Cornelius Nursery for the Fall festival. I was so impressed when I got home to see the all the pictures and that Jack was even in a festive smocked outfit :) After the fall festival they went over to the park, and had an awesome time. Jack was in awe of Grans basketball skills! Go Team Gran!!!

I love California but there is nothing like being home, with your family, and in your own bed!
And FINALLY here in Houston we have fall like weather :)
